Digital Payments on Khansland — bKash, Cards, and What Comes Next

April 21, 2026 | payments bkash security refunds digital-payments
Bangladesh's digital payment landscape has changed dramatically in the last five years. bKash alone processes over 1.2 billion taka daily. Yet most platforms still treat payments as an afterthought — limited options, slow refunds, and no consistency across services. On Khansland, payments are a first-class feature that works the same way whether you are buying groceries on Mart, ordering lunch on Meal, or hiring a performer on WeDo.

**bKash — the default**

Let us be honest: in Bangladesh, bKash is how most people move money digitally. Over 70 million active accounts. Your rickshaw puller has it. Your grandmother has it. It is the closest thing Bangladesh has to a universal payment method.

On Khansland, bKash is the primary payment option across all twelve platforms. The integration is direct — you authenticate with your bKash PIN during checkout, and the payment processes in real time. No manual send-money followed by screenshot sharing. No "send to this number and type the transaction ID." The payment is verified instantly and your order moves forward.

You link your bKash account once. After that, it is available on every platform. The verification step — confirming you own the number — happens during your first transaction and does not repeat.

**How pricing works across platforms**

Each platform has its own pricing model, but the payment infrastructure is shared:

On Shop and Mart, you pay the listed price plus any delivery fee. Sellers receive their payment after you confirm receipt, minus a small platform commission.

On Meal, you pay the bhabi's listed price plus delivery fee. The bhabi receives her share daily. This fast payout is important — many bhabis use today's earnings to buy tomorrow's ingredients.

On WeDo, you pay when you accept a performer's quote. The payment is held in escrow until you confirm the task is complete. This protects both sides — the performer knows the money exists, and you know it is not released until you are satisfied.

On Ride, pricing is either pre-quoted (for booked trips) or meter-based. Payment settles at the end of the ride.

On Gigs, you pre-load credits and spend them on AI tool usage. Credits never expire and are non-refundable but fully usable across all AI services.

**Refunds**

Refund speed is a real concern in Bangladesh. Many platforms take 7-14 days to process refunds, which for a 200-taka meal refund feels absurd. On Khansland, our refund targets are:

bKash refunds: processed within 24 hours for straightforward cases (wrong item, missing delivery, quality complaint with photo evidence). Complex disputes may take up to 72 hours.

The refund goes back to the original payment method. If you paid with bKash, the refund goes to bKash. No store credits forced on you unless you choose that option.

**Cash on delivery**

We would be dishonest if we pretended Bangladesh is fully cashless. It is not. Many customers — particularly outside Dhaka — prefer cash on delivery. Khansland supports COD on Shop and Mart orders.

The reality: COD has higher cancellation rates (around 15-20% compared to 3-5% for prepaid orders) and creates logistics challenges. But excluding cash customers means excluding a significant portion of Bangladesh. So we support it while encouraging the transition to digital payments through small incentives — free delivery on prepaid orders, slightly faster processing.

**Security**

Every payment on Khansland is encrypted end-to-end. We do not store your bKash PIN — it is entered directly in the bKash authentication layer during checkout. Your card details, if you use card payment, are tokenized — we store a reference token, not the actual card number.

Transaction records are available in your account under "Payment History," accessible from any platform. You can see every payment you have made across all twelve services in one place. This is useful during tax season or for personal budgeting.

**What we are building next**

Nagad integration is in progress. As Bangladesh's second-largest MFS provider, Nagad support will give millions of additional users a seamless payment option.

We are also exploring installment payments for higher-value purchases on Shop — buy a 10,000-taka item in three monthly installments. This is common on international platforms but rare in Bangladesh's domestic marketplace space.

Split payments for group orders are on the roadmap. When four colleagues order lunch together on Meal, each person should be able to pay their share directly instead of one person paying and collecting from the others.

**Why unified payments matter**

The real benefit is not about payment methods — it is about financial visibility. When all your transactions across twelve services flow through one account, you can see your spending patterns. How much do you spend on food monthly? On rides? On shopping?

This data belongs to you. We do not sell it. But having it in one place helps you make better decisions about your money. That is a side benefit of an integrated ecosystem that isolated platforms simply cannot provide.
